Schools & Young People's Fundraising

School Children running across playground fundraising

Here at Hospice in the Weald, we do a lot with children and young people. From supporting children and families when they experience the loss of a loved one through our counselling and Living Well services, to our recently-launched children’s service, supporting children with life-limiting illnesses, we are there for every member of the family.

Most children and adults across Kent and East Sussex will come into contact with Hospice in the Weald at some point in their life. Maybe we’ll care for a family member, put on a local event, or provide bereavement support.

We have a range of resources that you might find useful, and that our team of friendly Ambassadors, fundraisers and nurses are available to come deliver age-appropriate talks and assemblies at your school.

Let's work together

We need to raise £8 million every single year to be there for everyone who needs us. Together we can build a partnership that benefits everyone involved and means that no one needs to face a terminal or life threatening illness alone. There are so many exciting ways for you to get involved, we can’t wait to hear from you.

Hospice Run

Who’s your hero? Perhaps a TV character, a superhero, your mum, dad, teacher, or maybe even a nurse or doctor?

Back for its 17th year and with a brand-new superhero-themed Family Fun Run, Hospice Run is our most popular event of the year. Suitable for children of all ages, Hospice Run takes families on an adventure through the Common in Tunbridge Wells and past Wellington Rocks, dressed as their hero, children will dodge our super soakers and water blasters. On completion of the route, our Hospice Heroes receive a medal for their hard work.

Also taking place on the day is our familiar 5k and 10k run and a new half marathon for those up for the challenge.
