Hospice in the Weald is excited to share that its All the Difference campaign, launched by the Hospice’s Fundraising Team last autumn, has won Legacy Campaign of the Year at the Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards 2024.
The campaign raises awareness about the importance of Gifts in Wills, with small acts of care and compassion that “make all the difference” at its heart. The Hospice was among six charities shortlisted in the category for campaigns with income under £3m.
The national awards celebrate outstanding achievements, talent, and dedication in the legacy sector, with the judging panel assessing entries based on ambition, excellence, and outcome.
All the Difference invites supporters to create moments that matter by leaving a gift in their will. Original photography, featuring people living with terminal illnesses and Hospice volunteers, took pride of place on posters, bookmarks, and brochures. The campaign was promoted through Kent and East Sussex on bus panels, at supermarkets, station billboards, and through radio interviews, print editorials, social media, retargeting, and digital advertising.
Jenny Connolly, a Fundraising Relationships Manager at Hospice in the Weald, is part of the Fundraising Team behind the campaign and attended the ceremony on 18th April in London. She said: “We are thrilled to have won Legacy Campaign of the Year. It is a privilege to receive the Award and wonderful recognition of the collaboration of many staff, volunteers, patients and suppliers.
“Thanks to all involved, in particular those – including Mr Wooster, the dog – who feature in the beautiful images that bring warmth, personality, and authenticity. Thanks to the campaign’s success, we are continuing to develop our legacy fundraising to highlight the profound difference leaving a gift in this way can make to the lives of those facing terminal illness and their loved ones.”
Polly Avgherinos, Managing Director, Smee & Ford commented: “The Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards are dedicated to celebrating the incredible work of legacy professionals, giving them an opportunity to showcase their work and gain recognition. The unique work of legacy teams has not always been widely understood, so we’re delighted that Hospice in the Weald won Legacy Campaign of the Year. The work of the Hospice’s Fundraising Team has been recognised in an exceptional field of nominees. Well done to everyone involved.”
