On the 25th and 26th of November, the Hospice’s grounds were transformed into a winter village to host our annual Christmas Market, raising an incredible £28,000. From Christmas crafts and gifts from local sellers, specialty food and drink to wreath-making and festive live music, there was something for everyone to enjoy over the two days.
The landscaped gardens in Pembury were illuminated by sparkling lights and there was a grotto for the big man himself, Father Christmas. Accompanied by cheeky Hospice elves who ensured Christmas was even more special for little ones, Father Christmas also visited the ward to bring a smile to patients.
With more than 40 stalls selling locally made crafts and produce including decorations – and our beautifully hand-knitted Christmas chains – fashion, jewellery, home decor, and more, visitors could bag bargains galore.
Spirits were high thanks to the sounds of Women in Harmony, Saxissimo, Sarah Harris, and the Tonbridge Scout and Guide Band, along with the Hospice’s very own Creative Musician and musical volunteers. A wreath-making workshop with Tilly Bee Flowers was a big hit and a range of delicious hot food and warming drinks were enjoyed by all.
“This year’s Christmas Market certainly brought some of the magic of Christmas to Pembury. Thanks to everyone’s support, including our lovely stall holders, volunteers, and visitors, more than £28,000 was raised for the Hospice,” said Fundraising Manager Lisa Browning.
“Special thanks to the team at HSBC Tunbridge Wells for sponsoring the event and for all their help in the lead-up, transforming our grounds into a winter wonderland. The funds raised will help the Hospice make a real difference in the lives of patients and families at a time when they need it most,” she continued.
