We need to raise over £8 million every year to provide outstanding Hospice care to the local community. To get involved with our fundraising activities, design your own, or make a donation, use the information on this page.
By donating quality items to Hospice in the Weald charity shops, you not only give them a second life, preventing them from ending up in landfills, but you help raise vital funds, allowing us to be there for those who need us most. Read on to discover how to maximise the impact of your donations, what to donate, and how!
Whilst we never refuse donations, ensuring you donate items in good condition means they have a better chance of being re-homed, boosting funds and promoting a circular economy. Our eco-conscious shoppers love finding good-quality clothes, books, toys, and homeware. Here are some ideas for things to bring to our shops…
Clothing: Clean, gently used garments for men, women and children.
Homeware: Decorative items, kitchenware, and small, functioning appliances.
Accessories: Handbags, jewellery, and shoes in great shape.
Toys & games: Complete sets that are safe and fun for kids.
Furniture: Upholstered furniture with fire labels attached, wardrobes, tables, and more!
We will gratefully receive your pre-loved items! You don’t need to book a slot, simply drop them off during the opening hours of the shop you wish to donate to.
If you’d like to donate furniture and are unable to bring it to us yourself, we can suggest a local delivery company that will collect it and deliver it to one of our furniture shops.
If you have a question about the items you want to donate, feel free to call ahead and we’ll be happy to help.
The proceeds from our charity shops go directly toward funding our services, giving people under our care access to counselling, complementary therapies, support in their own homes, and much more.
This means that every item you donate has the potential to help our patients and their loved ones, and you can make an even bigger impact, at no extra cost to you, through Gift Aid.
By donating to our shops, you’re also choosing sustainability, as giving your pre-loved treasures a chance to go to a new home reduces environmental waste. It’s a win-win!
We appreciate every donation; however, some items can’t be sold for safety, legal, or practical reasons, find them listed in the PDF below and consider recycling, where possible, or contacting organisations that specialise in these items.
If you’re unsure about an item, feel free to get in touch with our friendly retail team on 01892 820 550 for guidance or contact the shop you wish to donate to directly.
