We need to raise over £8 million every year to provide outstanding Hospice care to the local community. To get involved with our fundraising activities, design your own, or make a donation, use the information on this page.
Milli Sales (32) and Molly Smallcombe (22) of Southborough will be among those taking part in the popular event on Saturday 17th June to raise funds for Hospice in the Weald in Pembury.
Walking in memory of Milli’s lovely mum Tess, cared for at the Hospice in Pembury before her death in 2019, aged just 57, the pair will be sharing memories and creating new ones as they join hundreds of others to light up the streets of Sevenoaks and Knole Park.
Molly said: “Myself and Milli are going to be walking 13 miles at Moonlight Walk. Hospice in the Weald gave my auntie Tess (Milli’s mum) amazing end of life care towards the end of her cancer treatment and supported our whole family throughout a very difficult time. My boyfriend’s mum and one of my best friends both work at the Hospice doing a fantastic job and we want to do all we can to support them. Both myself and Mill have been working on our fitness and are really excited to have this goal to work towards. Bring on the glitter and laughs! We have already raised more than £500 and all donations are greatly appreciated.”
Participants are invited to wear their most colourful clothes and can walk the classic eight-miles, challenge themselves to a new 13-mile route or ease in with a new four-mile walk. Those walking in memory of someone special are given stars to wear to add to a candle-lit memory wall at the end of the Walk.
Jesse Ansbro-Brett, Hospice Relationship Fundraising Manager, said: “Whether you wish to celebrate the life of someone special or fancy the challenge of walking under the stars in beautiful surroundings, there’s something for everyone this year. The wonderful Freddie Green and Family Charitable Foundation is offering to match every pound raised this year, in memory of Jo Green, who passed away in June 2021 at the Hospice. That means if you raise £50, we receive £100 towards our vital hospice care.
“Milli and Molly know the difference that Hospice in the Weald makes to those facing terminal illness and their families, and we hope many more locals will support us by signing up for an unforgettable night.”
Registration is £20 for adults and £10 for children.
