We believe in children being just that, rather than as patients. This Christmas we need your help to develop our children’s service as we look to reach more children and their families.
Our service has grown since we launched earlier this year and we need your help to purchase essesntial equipment. We are thrilled to be in the process of developing a Children’s Day Centre, to expand our offering for Children and their families. We anticipate its opening in just a few months, in time for Summer next year.
As you can imagine, we have been doing our research to make sure the Day Centre is as inclusive as possible for the families we support, and we’ve learned that one item that will make a big difference is a P-pod chair. Due to challenges with mobility, many of the children and young people we support can’t sit on a sofa to watch TV or play games with their family, but just like everyone else, they need somewhere comfy and relaxing to sit.
We need 143 kind supporters to donate £20.23 each today to buy the chair. Your incredible gift will allow families to spend quality time together in a supported environment.
Inside the purpose-built Children’s Day Centre, children and their siblings can participate in arts and crafts, play in a games room, watch films in a cinema room and use exciting specialist toys and equipment in a sensory room. With your help to purchase a P-pod chair, these activities will be accessible to all children who visit the Children’s Day Centre.
In my role in the new service for children, I provide support to families within their own homes. Every family is different, and I provide help including personal care, administering medication, helping at mealtimes and arranging activities for the young people and their families.
I always spend time with parents and guardians to work out exactly how I can be the most help. Sometimes my visits allow adults a little respite from being a full-time carer. They have peace of mind that their child is being looked after and cared for while they have the time to do housework, spend time as a couple, do activities with their other children or just take time to relax.
The unique design of a P-pod chair helps individuals maintain proper postural alignment and a sense of security while seated comfortably. They come in various sizes and colours and are suitable for infants, children and young adults.
If we are lucky enough to raise more than the cost of a P-pod chair and base unit, your generosity will go towards supporting adults and children in need of our care.
