Ultra Challenges are the UK’s leading series of endurance treks and runs, tailored for all fitness levels and ages. Whether you’re aiming to test your limits or savour a scenic journey at your own pace, you’ll find 14 remarkable events to choose from each year. We’ve curated a selection of these events below for you to explore.

South Coast Ultra Challenge

South Coast Ultra Challenge: 7th & 8th September

The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for 2000 adventurers to take on a real challenge.

An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way, with stunning views over the sea, to a Brighton half-way. Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups & downs lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing 100 km journey. Half & quarter distance options available – there’s a South Coast Ultra Challenge for everyone!

Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge

Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge: 3th - 4th May 2025

Great challenges need great settings, and up to 2,000 adventurers will take on the Isle of Wight stunning coastal path – all out to push themselves further. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up to historic Cowes.

For Full Island challengers it’s on to historic Ventnor, and back to our welcome basecamp in Chale after an epic 106km journey. With 3/4, 1/2, & 1/4 Island Challenges + the NEW & scenic ‘Southern 50 Loop ‘ & 10 mile ‘Cowes Medina Estuary’ options also available – there’s an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone!

Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge

Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge: 17th -18th May 2025

Spectacular World Heritage coastline. A start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups & downs to Weymouth half way.

For full 100 km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay (of TV’s Broadchurch) – before a finish line celebration in the vibrant town of Bridport. Great 3/4, Half, a NEW Weymouth Marathon & 1/4 Challenge options also – PLUS the Bridport 10K. It’s the event of the year!

London to Brighton Ultra Challenge

London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge: 24th -25th May 2025

The ‘original Ultra Challenge’ – and once again over 2,000 adventurers will take on the Capital to Coast route and test their grit & determination over the weekend. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with wonderful Surrey & Sussex countryside to half way at Turners Hill.

The full 100 km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view. With three quarter, half, marathon & quarter distance options also available – there’s a classic challenge here for everyone!

Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge

Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge: Saturday 12th October 2025

The end of season Ultra Challenge®– in the ‘Garden of England’ – and you can fundraise for your favourite charity. A basecamp near Maidstone, with parking & weekend camping options, the main 50km looped route heads anticlockwise around the Kent Downs – starting on the North Downs, around picturesque Aylesford, and following the River Medway. Along to the majestic Leeds Castle, then the North Downs Way back to the show ground finish line celebration. It’s easily accessible; you’ll get full support; and with 25km & 10km options also available, there’s a Kent Downs Ultra Challenge® waiting for you!

How do I get involved?

There are three payment options available to take part in these events:

Full Sponsorship – Pay a low registration fee and fundraise for the Hospice. The charity covers your event place cost.

Mixed Funding – You pay half the event place cost, and the Hospice pays the other half, meaning you get a lower fundraising target.

Self Funding – You pay the full event cost and fundraise for the Hospice if you wish to, but with no fundraising target.
