How to apply for the London Marathon

In 2024, the TCS London Marathon was the biggest marathon ever staged anywhere in the world, with over 50,000 participants taking on the traditional course from London’s Greenwich to The Mall.

Not only that, #TeamWeald’s incredible runners raised over £41,000 for Hospice in the Weald by running the London Marathon in 2024!

Here are two ways you can secure your place in the TCS London Marathon and fundraise for Hospice in the Weald:

Applying for a Ballot Place:

Ballot applications typically open the day after the TCS London Marathon takes place and remain open for a couple of weeks afterwards. If you’re lucky enough to secure a ballot place, you can choose to fundraise for us by selecting our charity as your preferred cause and adding us to your online fundraising page. Remember to notify us via email so we can support your fundraising efforts!

Applying for a Charity Place:

You can apply for a charity place directly with us by completing the form below.

To double your chances of securing a place, we recommend that you also apply for the public ballot via the TCS London Marathon website. The ballot typically opens the day after that year’s marathon has taken place.

Charlotte's story: Running for Granny

Once Charlotte had secured one of Hospice in the Weald’s limited places, her dream of running the prestigious London Marathon this April became reality. And with that came a meaningful responsibility: to raise vital funds for the place where her granny spent her precious last days.

“Granny wasn’t at the Hospice for long,” said Charlotte, who remembered what the Hospice’s ward in Pembury gave her granny. “It provided a lot of privacy and dignity for her, and everyone is treated with the dignity they deserve.”

Marc Burrows running

Marc ran the London Marathon for #TeamWeald:

“Despite the rain the crowds along the whole route were incredible, and seeing the hospice in the Weald flag and supporters gave me such a massive boost each time I saw them. It was an emotional experience every time I suddenly turned round random corners and there was cacophony of noise, and there was nothing better than hearing random people shout your name when it started to get tough. Marathons are hard and I can’t thank those who donated enough for such an amazing cause, which helped give me the motivation to push through and know that the pain I had was temporary compared to those who aren’t so lucky.”
