Bidborough Open Gardens

Sunday 22nd June 12pm – 5pm

This year there are six gardens in Bidborough for you to visit as a part of Hospice in the Weald Open Gardens scheme. Tickets can be bought on the day from any of the six gardens that are involved, and will allow you access to all the gardens which are participating. Admission is £6 (under 14s go free). There will be homemade teas at Boundes End, with gluten and dairy free cakes available. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Sheerdrop

Location: Sheerdrop, Penshurst Road, Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN3 0XJ

A terraced garden designed and planted by Roger Platts (Chelsea Gold Medallist). There is a cottage garden mix of plants and shrubs and although it is a ‘young’ garden it is already looking well established. Walk through the moon gate and down to a small pond. There are wonderful views from the garden across the Bidborough countryside towards the village church.

Boundes End

Location: Boundes End, 2St Lawrence Avenue, Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 0XB

Boundes End offers both formal and informal areas with herbaceous borders with interesting plants, specimen trees, places to sit and pebbled areas, pergolas, a ‘dry stream’ and a fire circle. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy.

8 Dower house

8 Dower House

Location: 8 Dower House Crescent, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 0TT

A small garden with front and back lawns surrounded by shrubs and cottage garden style planting, providing year-round interest and an abundance of colour. In the rear garden there is a greenhouse and a fruit cage with raised beds for growing a selection of fruit, vegetables and dahlias, and various seating areas.

4 The Crescent

Location: 4 The Crescent, Darnley Drive, Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 0TJ

This is a new garden which 2 years ago had just a few unappealing shrubs down one side. A sense of a cottage garden is being created, which will be peaceful with not too much going on. Plants will grow together as the years progress.

A nicely established garden with some designed elements. An abundance of flowers,   through spring and summer with a cool colour palette enhanced by some evergreen structure.

A landscaped family garden with beds providing colour throughout the year. Features a fig tree, acers, and large beech hedges. Roses, dahlias and many more flowers produce a riot of colour.
