In light of the COVID pandemic, the Living Well Programme, in it’s usual physical form has been temporarily paused.
Living Well allows patients in the last year of life and their families to come and adjust, together and seperately, to the reality that they or their loved one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Coffee & Catch up | This group is run once a month with volunteers Brian Bodkin and Clare Wordsworth and will be a check in for patients. The Gathering | The virtual gathering will run every Monday at 2pm. A friendly, gentle and supportive time together, supporting our personal well-being. | Every Monday @ 2pm |
Relaxation Group | The virtual relaxation group will run every Tuesday at 10.30am. Relaxation helps to reduce levels of pain, anxiety, stress or anger. The group will listen to some relaxing music, whilst using techniques such as deep breathing and visualization to help promote a calming atmosphere and to fully relax. | Every Tuesday @10:30am |
Music Expression Group | The virtual music expression group will run every Tuesday at 2pm. Music expression is a great way to express yourself using musical instruments (if accessible) and vocals, without having to worry about whether you’re a ‘musical person’ or not. This group includes musical activities like quizzes, song writing and musical games. | Every Tuesday @ 2pm |
Sing Along Group | The virtual sing along group is every Wednesday morning at 10.30am. This is a fun group for people love to sing, singing a whole range of songs. Whether or not they can carry a tune, people seem to understand that there’s something positive — something healthy — in the act of raising their voices in song. In fact, there’s solid scientific evidence to prove that singing is, in fact, good for your body and your mind. | Every Wednesday @ 10:30am |
The Quiz Group | The virtual quiz group is every Wednesday afternoon at 2pm. The quiz group is a great way to socialise with others, improve your mental health and improve your general knowledge. There is a different quiz every week, and covers a wide range of categories. | Every Wednesday @ 2pm |
Seated Exercise Group | The virtual seated exercise group is every Thursday morning at 10.30am. This is a seated exercise group and so it is accessible to all! Each session will start with gentle warm-up movements, progressing to more strenuous exercise and it will finish with stretches/warm-down. | Every Thursday @ 10:30am |
Music & Doodle Group | The virtual music and doodle group runs every Thursday afternoon at 2pm. This group combines listening to various pieces of music and then doodling on a piece of paper. At the end of the music the group share what they have drawn and explore what this might mean to them. As well as helping improve your creativity this group also helps relieves stress and encourages socialising with others. | Every Thursday @ 2pm |
Poetry & Book Club | This virtual group runs every Friday morning at 10.30am. Each week a different member of the group will bring a poem or a book that they can read to and the group and discuss. This is a great way to socialise with others, whilst expressing your own feelings and improving your mental health. | Every Friday @ 10:30am |
The Craft Group | We offer regular Craft Groups for patients where our team can support you with learning new crafts such as jewellery making, glass painting and mosaics. As well as helping to boost confidence, this group can give a sense of purpose and provide peer support from others facing similar situations all within a supportive and therapeutic environment. You may also want to keep your work to give to the important people in your life. This group will be on Fridays at 2pm and will last for one hour. A craft pack will be sent to you prior to your group, this will contain everything you will need to complete the activity taking place that week. | Every Friday @ 2pm |
