Hospice in the Weald is committed to providing accessible, compassionate, personalised and holistic care and support completely free of charge to patients, their family members and anyone important to that patient.
We are an organisation at the centre of the community and we recognise, respect and value the differences of every individual, whether they are a patient, carer, volunteer, visitor or colleague both inside and outside of that community.
As a Hospice we are aware that there are still too many people who could benefit from palliative care but are not receiving it. This could be because of barriers relating not only to their illness but also to factors such as social or cultural needs. Everyone at Hospice in the Weald is committed to reducing inequalities that may prevent someone from accessing our services.
We hope that by working together and learning from each other we can address the barriers that may prevent someone from getting the support and care they deserve when diagnosed with a progressive life limiting illness.
We are actively committed to recruit, motivate and develop an outstanding and diverse team of individuals who will work together to fulfil our aims and support you at one of the most difficult times in your life. We aspire to have a service in which all are appreciated, where talents are fully utilised, difference is embraced and harnessed, and goals achieved through the principle of inclusivity.
Hospice in the Weald is committed to giving fair access to anyone needing our services. Those needing those services will have fair access according to their needs and whilst using our services, they will be treated with the utmost respect and know they are valued for who they are, their wishes respected and that their challenges will be addressed.
This Hospice is committed to eliminating discrimination based on, but not exclusively, age, disability, gender or gender reassignment, marital status and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religious or political beliefs, social background, family circumstance, sexual orientation, spent criminal offences or any other reason.
Hospice in the Weald proactively seeks feedback so that as an organisation we can learn and adjust working practices and policies. The Board of Trustees, Chief Executive and Directors have responsibility for ensuring the Hospice operates within the legal framework.
Each of us has a responsibility to treat others with fairness, understanding, respect and dignity, what we would hope and expect for ourselves and our loved ones. And if it is in our power, we each have a responsibility to challenge or prevent discrimination.
Each individual will be responsible for the promotion and advancement of this statement. Actions or words that transgress it will not be tolerated and will be addressed in line with Hospice policies.
