Fundraise & Get Involved

We need to raise over £8 million every year to provide outstanding Hospice care to the local community. To get involved with our fundraising activities, design your own, or make a donation, use the information on this page.

What facilities does Cottage Hospice have?

At Cottage Hospice, our 10 individual rooms are well equipped and give a real homely feeling. They’re flexible and big enough for family and friends to come and visit and all have a sofa, table and chairs as well as a fully functioning patient bed and a guest bed. Each room has its own en-suite and we encourage patients and those important to them to personalise their rooms, bringing personal items in from home. The rooms are bright and airy, but at the same time are private, giving individuals their own space.

The rooms have soft and cosy furnishings, and at the same time are spacious and bright. Floor to ceiling windows allow light to flood in and the views of the garden and countryside to be admired from the beds. You are close to the outdoors at Cottage Hospice, bringing a sense of calm to the rooms. Visitors comment on how quiet it can be  and how relaxed it feels, with all the medical supplies discreet, but accessible if needed. The welcoming environment is as non-threatening as you can get and your stay at Cottage Hospice is on your terms as it would be at home.

Make it feel like home

You are free to bring anything that you would like with you to make your room feel like home. Your stay is just that… yours, and we will always do our best to meet your individual needs. You may want to bring your own bed linen, photographs, cushions. Pets are welcome at Cottage Hospice and we often have four legged friends staying with us as they would at home.

Every room at Cottage Hospice has a patient bed and a second bed which is either a matching guest bed, or a sofa bed. The matching beds can be put together if you would like to share a double bed as you would at home. When you’re talking to a nurse about coming to stay at Cottage Hospice, they will discuss this with you, but rest assured you will always be able to stay in the room.
