Meadow of Memories Gathering | Events

Monday 26^th May 2025 – Scotney Castle, Lamberhurst – 5.00pm – 7.00pm

We invite you to join us for a special Gathering at the Meadow of Memories, marking the final day of the Meadow of Memories display at Scotney Castle – a breathtaking tribute of over 300 butterflies, each one dedicated to a loved one.

For those who have dedicated a butterfly, this is a special opportunity to collect your lasting tribute in person after the Gathering.

Whether or not you have dedicated a butterfly, everyone is welcome to join.

The Gathering will take place beside the beautiful steel butterflies as we come together to pause, reflect and honour our loved ones. Surrounded by the castle’s tranquil beauty, the event will feature live music and poignant poetry, creating a peaceful and comforting space.

Access and Parking

Thanks to the support of The National Trust, the Gathering will happen in private at Scotney Castle after their usual opening hours. Doors open at 5.00pm, with the Gathering starting at 5.30pm and lasting approximately 30 minutes.

Kindly note, you will need to book and pay for car parking if arriving before 5pm.

Please do bring picnic blankets or folding chairs and join us for a complimentary cream tea following the Gathering. Afterwards, you are invited to explore the Scotney Castle grounds until 7.00pm.
